Introduction
University graduates are increasingly facing unemployment and limited internship opportunities due to a lack of practical, employable skills demanded in today’s workplace. Most universities mainly emphasise theoretical learning while neglecting essential workplace competencies such as digital marketing, communication, branding, customer relations, innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving skills that employers highly require.
The Market Uganda internship program provides a practical and innovative solution to the growing internship and employability challenges faced by university students in Uganda. The program is a transformative opportunity that equips students with market-driven digital, communication, entrepreneurial, branding, and workplace skills required in today’s competitive labour market. The program also provides student interns with opportunities to experience the workplace, create their own businesses, or support organisations by offering services in brand promotion, digital marketing, and customer engagement.
